The description on Amazon and on the Asus website states that the operating system is Windows XP Home.

Not believe it! It really has the real crappy Windows 7 Starter, a horrible joke of an operating system.

If this thing was for me and my nephew. would be returned in a flash. But he is dying to do it, then pleaded with me not to return. I think you will regret it.

Starter Windows 7 is a deal breaker for me. Windows 7 is OK, I use Home Premium X64 Pro and other machines here, but starter is a horrible, horrible piece of junk crippled pure. And Microsoft wants $ 80, yes $ 80 for the upgrade. Since Amazon sells a version of Home “” no upgrade for $ 110, which gives an indication of how bad starter.

    Warning!
< , br /> In addition, the support CD? Forget that only has the DVD of Windows 7 in the box.

The same EEE? OK for a toy, I think. Just do not think you’re getting a computer now serious.

I received Netbook ASUS and office for 8 hours before turning it on. It has 2GB upgrade. Started having issues with it freezing up while the closure and had to pull the battery off it several times. Noticed that the battery was 100% and showed seven hours of running. Now, after three days of use of 100% is only 5 hours 3 minutes running time. Definitely a problem. next problem is the freezing of the screen and be confused with a lot of horizontal lines that every time I switch to power during use. Have to pull the battery again to make it off. I’m sending this thing back. . . Too many headaches.

units received in 4 days in perfect shape. Uploaded drive seven hours before use, but battery life is 7 hours 5 min from the second life full charge up just over 5 hours. Units had problems off the screen would go black, but not stop so I had to pull the battery. When you switch to electrical, freezing units would always be with horizontal static lines on screen, and I had to pull the battery to close. I received the software update of Windows, also from Amazon, which installed w / OA problem. I noticed the pop-up message that Windows has found software that was not true Windows program, I never pursued. I sent this unit back, too many problems. . . Good Riddance! PS This is the second review I did for this, all the previous reviews for this netbook, about 30 years, have disappeared. Here’s how conspiracy theories begin!

This is a good computer. The only problem is that no CD drive aisle, and expensive.
