I simply got my 1015PEM last week. I created a USB install of Ubuntu and put in a 2GB DDR3 stick of RAM I had.

I’m running the newest Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick sixty four bit beta, and it’s fantastic! Everything works buttery sleek and is functioning right off (for those of you furthermore mght using Ubuntu/Linux, the wireless drivers use the Broadcom STA drivers, just install via ethernet connection at first)

The keys and palmrests of swish, not shiny, and extra comfortable to type on. I transitioned from a full-sized Mac keyboard to this little guy and had no problems adjusting.

The speakers are LOUD at full volume, for such a bit thing. so much outshine my Acer 3810t with ‘Dolby Experience’.

The power supply is beautifully tiny.

I’ve been able to watch hulu, etc, just fine.

Last however not least, youtube 720p flash may be a very little jittery, however some updates in the future might fix this (this is on balance, linux. Flash runs abundant faster in Windows). Given that, there’s extremely no would like for 720p because the screen’s resolution maxes out at 1024 by 600, therefore 480p appearance (and works) simply fine.

Finally, the battery life is outstanding

Review: i am very pleased with this netbook. it has one amongst the longest battery life span’s that I’ve seen. Even now as I write this review i am at eighty seven battery life with 9hrs 40min remaining. in fact this can change looking on what you are doing. Watching videos or actively browsing the online might use to a small degree additional power. i use Word and PowerPoint easily with none complaints. it’ll show a movie just fine furthermore. i was afraid the video camera wouldn’t be terribly useful but it’s truly much better than I expected. now and then the tiny screen size can appear slightly annoying when you are trying to browse plenty of material quickly. Enlarging a document for easier reading means you’ll be scrolling a lot of. I knew the screen size once I purchased this product and this doesn’t have any result on the performance of the device. It works great!

Some people complain regarding the touchpad and also the double faucet feature and the way annoying it can get. The touchpad may be configured and the double faucet perform may be disabled so that you don’t accidently bump it together with your palms whereas typing. I simply use the buttons to double click rather like a standard mouse. this is my initial netbook therefore i can not compare to others however i would undoubtedly suggest this to anyone.
