Onkyo HT-S7300
I did not buy from Amazon but I just wanted to say that it is great. Out of the box it sounds great and set-up was easy and everything was clearly written. After Audysey it sounded even better and it is great.

super pleased with purchase, and excellent value
I purchased this TV about 1 month ago, and so far love it. I own a Panasonic Viera th-50pz80U (480hz 1080p)that I bought 2 years ago, and my brother owns the newer g10 50 inch 600hz panasonic, and this phillips is as nice as those two Plasma TVs. Upsides of this tv, LCD, more durable as far as moving around. Plasma tvs are still glass and need to be kept upright, never to be placed on their face. this can be moved more. It is brighter than the plasma TV at baseline. Colors pop without haveing to put the TV into a brighter mode as I have done before on my plasma. there is no burn in or streeking as with the plasmas if not taken care of. I have not had a problem with the panasonics, but on rare occasion on pause I will see a little burn in that will fade on my plasma. I think that the speed of the TV, 240hz, has made it comparable to my plasma for everyday movies. This has a digital motion program built in the set which can be turned off and on. For regular movies and TV, I turn it off. On animated movies, wow, i think this TV beats my plasma. The draw back with the digital motion is that it looks really choppy in movies with a lot of action, like car chases . It does funny things with the people on the screen as well. If it is focused on a character, it almost feels as if they were standing there in the room. It looses the warmth and depth in background, and again seems choppy when the focus person or object moves, and looks really processed (like a computer straining to keep up with rate) if the background moves. Regular movies and sports, I love my Plasma TV. This Philips 5505 model does not have Wifi built in for net flix, but the 5705 model does. This one runs a bit cheaper, and as a second nice tv for the bedroom, this works well and is a great value for the speed and size. Only a few of the upper models from sony and LG have 240 hz LCD/LED tvs, and those models will cost you quite a bit more for a comparable TV. The Cheapest i saw the Sony was around 00 for a 40 inch. For LCD tvs, this one is great, and the digital motion can be turned off which is a nice feature. As a final note, my friend sprung for a samsung 46 inch 120hz model, and spent considerably more, and this toast it all around. again with the samsung as with most LED tvs, they over process the image and it looks choppy and unnatural. That is why i like the fact I can turn on and off the Digital motion feature. Check this TV out, great value and performance.

Update- response to some questions that came up. The Net picture are not that good

Thanks for the good questions, the pictures are tough to see

The Bezel is a glossy bezel, reflective

The screen is essentially flat. I note a small reflection when the tv is off, but there is no reflection when the tv is on, and i can tell you my plasma tv that is one draw back, the reflection on bright days. in looking at the other lcd/led tvs on the market, this is the same as most of them these days. My friends Samsung 46" 650 model has an actual plastic protective cover over the LCD screen which does reflect, that was a shock. the non reflective front is one of the advantages of any LCD/LED tv over most plasmas

Mesurments 26 1/2 tall, 9 3/4 at base, tv 3 3/4 thick, 39 across horizonal, corner to corner at 40" screen, almost 43 corner of bezel to corner of bezel.

Finally, LCD/LED tvs run much cooler than plasma tvs, so this tv is much cooler and nicer in my room than my plasma would be.

One final note. Depending upon if you want Net capability for streeming videos from the internet eg, netflixs, or blockbuster streeming vidio, the 5705 model online here at amazon is only a few dollars more. I got my tv at a warehouse retailer for less than the current price today on sale, so this model was a no brainer, and I don't really care about the net capability because various blu-ray players have that capability as well. so if you want a stand alone tv and you plan to get a blu ray player, net capapble doesn't matter. if you have limited space and watch all your movies offline, then the 5705 model would be worth the investment.
hope this helps

Excellent Affordable Projector
I've had this now for a few months and every time I use it I'm reminded how worth it is. I've got it paired with a 12' wide roll down screen and a Playstation3 and the picture is simply amazing. It works best in a dark room but I can use it in the day with the blinds drawn and a bright setting and it's just fine. I don't go to movie theatres anymore and just wait for stuff to come out on Blueray. It's the only way to watch movies or play video games. If you use it out of the box the pre set settings aren't actually the best for movies, they're good for Games and TV but in blueray films the skin tones look all weird. Here's a link to a web site with a very good calibration for movies. [...]
Which brings me to the menu, it's not the most intuitive but once you set it up once, you don't have to go back and you can switch between modes using one button on the remote. The remote is good; all the buttons light up and all the controls are available. It's not programmable though and won't control any other components. Noise wise the unit is very quiet unless it starts to get too hot. At first I had it set up in a cabinet and the fan would go full blast, now it's on the ceiling and I don't hear it. When I first got it, I suffered from colour wheel effect; when you see rainbows in high contrast scenes. This had me really worried as it was kind of unacceptable, but after a while I stopped noticing it and now have forgotten about which is apparently what happens. But be warned; if you invite friends to watch something, they might complain about seeing rainbows. Probably they're just jealous because they spent double or triple on a flat screen TV to have a much smaller and worse picture.

Very good Home Theater projector
The projector perform better than my expectations, with the default setting out of the box the picture has very good colors and the clarity is excellent. I will say that after the burn in time of the lamp the projector has a much better color and contrast. I bought an Optoma HD20 before this and had to returned because of an overheating problem. So far I had have no problems with this and is a very quiet projector compare to the HD20. The light output is very good but limited to a complete dark room. I did not see the rainbow effect.

BenQ W1000
I've owned this projector for a month and a half. It has worked flawlessly with no issues to speak of.
It's quieter than my Optoma HD65 with a much brighter and vivid picture.

With a little or a lot of patience you can tweak the color and image to what ever floats your boat.
The W1000 has terrific color and depth, along with sharpness I've come to really appreciate. This unit does use a 2 times speed color wheel. Those sensitive to RBE may want to look at the HD20 or Vivitek. A LCD projector could be your best bet if you're very sensitive to RBE. The great thing about amazon is the satisfaction guarantee.

This is a VERY bright projector! At the present time it is the brightest 1080P projector available under 3 grand.
This gives you more leeway for ambient light to be present in the room. You can eat at the dinner table and still enjoy your movie or show without trying to eat in the dark because your image is washed out by the ambient light.

I like the fact this unit has its own speaker. My nephew loves to play Xbox. We just plug the Xbox directly to the projector and off we go! Nothing like playing video games on a large screen. The speaker is plenty loud enough without disturbing others in the home.

I've spent many hours tweaking and calibrating the picture. Here's a few settings that may or may not help you.
I've found it to give me the best balance of color, brightness and contrast so far.

These are settings with the projector 14 ft from the screen with lens wide, lamp hrs of 216 and 120 inch Favi matte white high gain screen. Black levels and contrast will deepen as lamp ages. 100 hrs of burn-in will make a difference for the better in skin tones and black levels.

First Product From BenQ!
I have to say that this product is simply amazing! out the box I was pleased with the picture quality and I had to do minimal tweeking to make it look "custom!" I quickly hooked up my Ps3 and played Season 20 of the Simpsons Disc 2, The HIGH DEF episodes and let me say that it just blew me away; granted I was projecting an image of about 90inches or so and the wall had minor imperfections. The brightness is acceptable and was perfectly watchabe with the lights on. I set the lamp mode to economy, and let me say that there is a slight difference in brightness, but that will net you another 1000 hours of life, granted it the lamp doesn't go before that! The look of the projector is elegant white leather texture and look just perfect! I do have one complain though, there is no lense cover, as we all know the lenses are rather fragile and prone to scratches. I am quite happy for my purchase!

Best projector I have owned yet!!
This projector I am using right now I have my computer hooked up to it thru a onkyo 1007 and it is fantastic. Brightest projector you will find at this resolution and price range. Plays movies beautifully and games like no other. Handles HD and non hd with ease. I have had it and used it for 1800 hours so far and the bulbs are good for 4000 but just like a light bulb they can go at any time.

A few things people need to know for a long life span is
1. Do not turn on if your only gonna use it an hour or less.
2 Do not turn off and on the projector shortens life span.
3. Do not use during a thunderstorm ever seen a light bulb glow brighter and then later burn out?

I turn mine on and use it every night for atleast 8 hours a day. I have never had a bulb blow on me ever outta the three I have had. I even went over the lifespan on my second one buy 1800 hours!!

Bulbs go bad usually in the first 100 hours if they are gonna prematurely go unless you do what I said not to above. I have it on a 120" screen and I could not be happier.

Also if they give you a replacement bulb make sure you use it, after your first bulb has 100 hours on it use the second for 100 hours

1 Its the right bulb :P
2 It will make it past the 100 hour mark.

Also just so ya know how long and I do have it I was the first to have this projector and reviewed it on AVS forum you can see it here.

[...]

Hope this helps thanks :)
Joe

Great Equipment at a Great Price
This has turned out to be a fantastic deal. I'm a klutz at putting things together and was able to do it with no problem. It's rock solid when I ride it and easy to use. I always use the manual mode for my workout, but the instructions look pretty simple for the different programs. I've been using this as part of a knee rehab program and it's worked like a dream.

Solid machine, clumsy user interface, complete assembly required
I also own a 0 recumbent bike, and this machine is a gazillion times better.

It's solid, sturdy and heavy, but the handle/rollers make it easy to move around the room.

The pedals are comfy, though I did have to rotate the shorter front handles all the way to the back to get them out of the way of my knees (I'm short--this may not happen if you're tall). Both the seat proper and the back of the seat are comfortable--even after an hour, my butt's not numb.

The heart monitor easily takes an accurate read (this was seldom true on my cheapie bike), the programs are good, and you can save multiple user profiles. The basket is handy for accessories and magazines (or if you're me, your knitting). It's easily adjustable for height. I'm very out of shape, but I was getting a nice workout at only about 25% of the full resistance, so I think the machine will grow with me.

I took off one star because the interface is not great. It's very complicated and not overly intuitive. On-screen instructions or better labeling would be easy to add and would make a big difference. I haven't belonged to a gym in a decade, but even then the interfaces were immediately obvious, so improving this one shouldn't have been rocket science. Since the programming is one of the standout features of a machine like this, and what separates it from the cheaper versions, they should have put more thought into it.

And the little fan in it is also utterly useless. It moves less air than a hand fan would. I'm short and could barely feel it on the highest speed, so someone with long legs wouldn't feel anything.

The instructions are VERY EASY TO FOLLOW, but assembly still takes quite a long time. I spent close to 2 hours unpacking it, reading the instructions & assembling it by myself (I'm a short woman with average strength). Every step was quite clear and I didn't run into any problems. And the machine comes with all of the tools you need for assembly, which is very cool.

I feel like this really is worth its price. However, I probably wouldn't make the investment until I'd used a cheaper model regularly and was sure it wouldn't just become another clothes rack (if fact, when my boyfriend saw it, he said, "Wow, that clothes rack is WAY nicer than your old one.")

Overall, a well-built, quality machine--but for the price it really should have a better user interface. (If a phone can do it, a 0 exercycle should be able to.)

Great Bike for the Price.
Got this bike about a week ago. It wasn't too hard to assemble and I thought the directions were easy enough to understand. Creating a user and setting up a custom workout is easy as well. The fan on this bike is a complete waste of space. Not worth turning it on. The back seat is also not too comfortable, but it really isn't too bad. Overall a really great bike for the price. A lot of the other bikes I had tried out at Dicks, Sports Authority, or Sears all felt really weak, and the Nautilus feels pretty solid. I love all of you.

Headsup on assembly........and AC
My thoughts on the assembly process:
1) The actual manual had 4 (loose) addendum pages and weren't located in the proper page locations. So just review them before assembly, otherwise you'll be scratchin your head trying to figure out the actual figures. My only question is why they just could't print out a complete new manual? It's nothing fancy.
2) The lock down seat adjustment has to be the absolute worst design. The knob requires to many turns...if fact it almost has to come completely out for the seat to slide. Then you have to line the screw up with an adjustment hole..that you can't see??)
3) The Operators manual refers to a "one" speed fan. Well, mine has multiple speeds, but is quite noisy!
All in all, if they just fixed the simple things, this would be an assume bike. Love the variations/options available.
ALSO NOTE: Nowhere is it mentioned that it requires AC power for the display, (no battery operation). So keep a wall socket close.

A Bear to Put Together Else OK
Having previously purchased a Bowflex from Nautilus a couple years ago and assembled it myself I was prepared for the daunting task of assembling this item and I must say they didn't let me down! Anyone planning on purchasing this bike and assembling it themselves should first peruse the assembly manual here on Amazon before they order to see what it entails. What it entails is just under 30 pages (there are 56 pages total but half are in English the other half is the same thing in French). What I found helpful both with this bike and the Bowflex was to print out the pages of the instructions that were pertinent and have them handy. First read or at least skim he instructions to see the order of assembly then check to make sure that all the parts are present, assuming they are then gather the necessary tools and just jump in!

Once assembled the machine is a real joy to use. The seat is comfortable and easy to move if more than one person in the house is using it and needs to have a different setting. The exercise console gives excellent feedback and is very motivating to help you go the distance! The basket in the back of it is a nice touch and let's you store stuff you may want to use with the bike like your water bottle.

Like all Nautilus equipment it's sturdy and well built and seems to be well thought out - is it worth more money than other brands - hard to tell it all depends on how much bike you need and how much you are willing to pay for those needs. If you have the money to spend and can get pasted the assembly I think you will like this bike and it's features that are listed in the description here so I won't repeat those.

Excellent product
After much research I picked this one and it is a great product.

When projecting HD it produces a crisp picture that is 16 feet (diagonal). Standard TV is fine, as it is the definition we are used to, but HD is just outstanding. I have noticed I only watch standard TV when after reviewing all my alternatives in HD channels.

I am very happy with this product.

Best Choice for your Home Cinema !
I've bought Sony VPL-HW15 recently, and wow !
This is my fourth projection since 1996, so I have a lot of experience in projections. My first one was also a Sony ( 480 x 320 pixels ) back in 1996 and had a standard halogen lamp of 50W... The second was an Epson, the third was an Hitachi, but none of them were HD. I've made a search for the last 6 months for the best product to buy with a reasonable money. Sony VPL-HW15 was perhaps the only choice with all the features and the price. If you're planning to buy a new projection, don't be fooled by an HD Ready, the technology goes faster than predicted.
Sony VPL-HW15 for me is equivalent with a USD 20.000,00 very big screen TV with a sixth of its price.
The new technology Sony developed has two major goodies. A perfect contrast ratio ( blacks are black, not grey ). The noise ( what noise ? ) is not heard even you're just near the projection and you cannot even hear if it is working or not.
The colors are perfect & natural, 1000 Lumen is quite a good level combined by the contrast ratio and you can watch it in a medium darkened room.
My only doubt is the Sony Service & after sales management which is very well known all over the world that it has a bad reputation :( But don't worry too much, 'cause if you're not too unlucky, nothing happens to Sony products for a reasonable time if you don't break them down.

Great projector
The picture projected by the Sony VPLHW15 is awesome. I cannot think of any negatives about this projector with a couple of minor exceptions - the hook-ups are located on the side rather than the back of the projector, and the remote and the projector itself are quite large. However, that's not enough to give it less than 5 stars since the quality of the picture is the most important criteria for buying a projector. The picture is like sitting in a public movie theater. The quality cannot be exceeded even if one pays thousands of dollars more.

Beautiful all around picture
I've had a projection setup for several years now, and this is my 4th projector. So while I'm not a real video expert, I've gotten enough experience to have a pretty good take - and this Sony VPL-HW15 is a pretty sweet unit. I've long been a fan of LCOS technology (SXRD as Sony calls it), but until very recently it was out of my budget range. Past projectors have been DLP models, starting with a couple of NEC business presentation units (rainbow city!) and then an Optoma HD80, one of first affordable 1080p models. The HD80 ran into problems recently so I decided to upgrade. This time, I was actually able to compare units using the 3 major projection technologies in my home: LCD, DLP, and LCOS. The LCD unit was an Epson Home Cinema 8100 - not in the same price range, so not a fair comparison, and it did not fare well. The Benq W6000 was a much better unit overall, and very bright, but that brightness and a slower color wheel led to seeing a lot more color fringing, or rainbows, which I seem to be fairly sensitive to. So I tried the Sony, and found a winner. It just has what I find a very "relaxing" picture - it may not be the absolute best at any one thing but it's very close on everything, and just a very pleasing image to watch. Color out of the box is very good. Black levels may be a tiny bit off the best in class, but not far. It's bright enough on my 100" screen in Dynamic mode that sports are easily watchable with light in the room. One feature I really appreciate is the pixel alignment utility that allows the red & green panels to be converged in 1/10 pixel steps. Coming from a single chip DLP model that had no convergence problems by its nature, that is something I really like. The only minor weakness that I find (aside from lacking some features I don't need like anamorphic lens support, or motorized lens), is that it's just a hair less sharp looking than a single chip DLP model, but that also gives it a nice smooth, less "digital" look that some find preferable anyway. The build quality and aesthetics are pretty nice, too. The lens seems to be very good quality.

Strengths: VERY good color, very good blacks, enough brightness, good lens, pixel convergence feature, lens shift, quiet, nice build quality and design
Weaknesses: Not as feature packed as some like the Panasonic AE4000, a little higher cost, not quite as sharp as a single chip DLP

If your new and not sure
Wow. We bought a 104" screnn, and I had tried to get the Viewsonic 1080, but they have been discontinued, so I went with the next best- Sony. I am new as this is my first projector, but wow. Easy install from the ceiling. Instructions give you the proper location according to size of screen and distance from screen. Good instruction on menu controls. Not much adjusting on my part, and WOW- picture quality is extreemly good in my case. Enclosed room in basement with no windows. Only bad on my part- walls are white- the light off this thing makes the 24'x27' room light up. Going to have to darken it up. Projector keeps hours used so you know how much life is left on lamp. Extreemly happy with this projector!

First mid/high end projector - wow!
This projector is really something else; if you haven't seen a mid-range projector in a few years, you're in for quote a shock. I'm using mine in a dedicated/light controlled media room on a 100" 1.1 gain screen. The image is really beyond what I expected, it's pretty incredible. A few things that I'll highlight (good and bad).

First off, the projector is white. Most media rooms are dark colors, so this thing sticks out like a sore thumb. A black/dark color would be much better. Also, this thing is BIG. If you haven't seen one in person, be prepared for how large these projectors are. It's not bigger than I expected, but it's a big device (and reasonably heavy), just be ready for it when you place your order. Finally, this thing (and all projectors) makes some serious heat. It's usually mounted on the ceiling, so not that big a deal, but you certainly wouldn't want this thing right behind you; it's pretty hot.

In my light controlled room, the image is almost too bright in normal mode; in "Eco" mode it's perfect. I've got about 17' of throw and a 100" screen; and I've never taken it out of eco mode; it's more than bright enough.

Overall, I'm very happy with it; I'll have to update this review in a few months (and give a more long term view), but, as it sits right now; it's a great device; truly breathtaking picture.. For the price, certainly a 5 star item.

Very Good but what about 3D
This projector is very good

Good contrast, bright and definition

I had a Sanyo Z5 for 3 years, and the contrast of Epson is significantly better

I am afraid about 3D as we know, its necessary a 120Hz refresh rate in the projector
Specialists say that LCD projectors can't do that. Epson said in the past that this projector was able to do 120 Hz, but this argument disappeared from sites and advertisements after the 3D market boom

I verified that some users are trying to get 3D images from LCD projectors but I am afraid of facing hard difficulties to do this

If you don't care about 3D and want a very good image this is a very good product

I am waiting an Epson and other manufacturer's options to help people with LCD projector to get 3D, even with a worse image quality and 60 Hz refresh rate

I read some comments about lamp problems with Epson 8100. I am not sure about quality, but this projector is made in China ... Some of this category are made in Japan.

I must be honest - the image is excellent ... I recommend it ....

So time will tell me more about quality...

You wont be dissapointed
I did quite a bit of research on this projector and a model from Panasonic. I ended up going with this one and I am thrilled with it. Avatar Blu-ray on my 100" screen is more stunning than it was in the theater--I saw details that I couldn't see in the theater. The colors are amazing! The THX mode and the black-level 2 modes have been perfect for me without any color-correction from me. The Settings menu is intuitive and easy to use. I haven't taken my projector out of eco-mode yet, and I don't see any need to. The picture is bright, crisp, color-accurate. The only less-than-perfect thing I have noticed is a very very minor amount of screen-door effect on white portions of the image only. I have to be looking for it to notice it and it doesn't distract me during a movie at all. Most all LCD projectors have the screen-door effect, so I don't really consider it a problem or a flaw--especially since it is undetectable most of the time.

Incredible
We received our 8500 projector yesterday and it is fantastic. The best I have ever owned/demo'd. Right out of the box, the colors are beautiful, the blacks are intensly black, and its brightness is excellent and more than enough for both the 137" and 106" screens we tried it out on.

I have owned several projectors for quite a few years now (the infocus X1 and most recently the Optoma H79). Each impressed me in its time, but there is really no comparing either of these two to the Epson. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed in this purchase. It feels like it should be thousands of dollars more for the performance.

Last night, we watched Avatar, and to us, it was better looking than when we saw it in the theater (probably owing to the 3D presentation dimming the colors and blurring the action somewhat).

I'll rate this thing a solid 10. Could not be more happy with it.

Unbelievably happy
I read reviews on projectors for two years before I purchased the 8500. I was all set to buy the previous years model and decided to wait. I sold Audio/Video for 5 years and have been planning my theater room for ever. The projector was a very important piece to me and I was very nervous. You can't seem to find anywhere that carries more than 2 or 3 projectors in a demo enviroment, and even when you do they are all in different rooms on different size screens playing different material. I basically bought this projector sight unseen based on the reviews from many of the websites. I have to say its actually better than the reviews say. I'm projecting on a 110" Dalite white screen. (gain 1.0)in a room with full light control. The projector has tons of light output and the clarity is amazing. You actually really start to notice which shows are fillmed very tightly focused (The Apprentice/Surviror) and shows that are filled a little softer (Burn Notice).
I also had the opportunity to try out the custoemr service. I had a small problem and as stated in reviews I called Epson told them the problem, they walked me through a couple of solutions they agreed something was wrong and shipped me a new one 2 day air. Did I mention I spoke to a live person each time I had to call with less than a 2 minue wait.
Regaring the trapazoid effect the other review mentioned. I had the same problem I realized on a ceiling mounted sytem you actually need the projector parallel to the ceiling, instead of aiming the projector at the middle of the screen. Use a level and make it level with the floor and ceiling and then use the lens adjustments to move the image around. It removes almost the entire effect. Final Comment. Buy this project you will not be disappointed.

Get Your Popcorn Ready...
I sometimes have to pick my friends and family up off of the floor when they first see this TV. The enormous size makes their jaws drop and the picture quality makes them not want to leave. My wife was ready to kick me out when she saw the size of the TV box; however, it seems she has changed her mind because she always wants to watch movies on this TV and invites our family, friends, and neighbors over to see it. This is an amazing HD TV that is 3D ready. The picture and color even on non HD channels are extremely good. Did I mention that this TV is 82" and currently 65" is the biggest you can get in 3D from a plasma/LCD TV? If you are looking for a quality TV that will make you feel like you are at sporting events and make your family think they are in a movie theater, then start popping popcorn and get this TV. It is by far the best TV I have ever owned. I am truly enjoying this TV and highly recommend it.

Bad bulb/ballast
Have had the TV for ~2 weeks now and haven't been able to watch for more than about an hour tops, and getting shorter. Apparently there is something wrong with the bulb/ballast. The picture just drops out and the green indicator turns solid red. The book says change the bulb. After the run around with Mitsu it took 5 days to get a new bulb and that didn't work. Now I have to wait another ~4-5 days minimum to have a tech come out to look at the set. This was a common problem a couple years ago, would have thought they'd have fixed it by now. Unless I'm just lucky and got the one bad apple.

Marvelous, simply marvelous.
Great picture out of the box using the standard setting with warm white. Using tools I learned about on AVsforum a few years back I was able to calibrate this set to nearly perfect specs. The Advanced user menus made the job very easy and the technology that this set has built into it made it possible to get the calibration almost exactly where the industry specs say it should be. The picture is now stunning, whereas out of the box it was just very good. Go here for more information.
