Based on the rave reviews, I ordered this item. I had to wait a week for it to be delivered. When it finally arrived, the shippers took it out of the box to find that there was no hardware to assemble the stand. There was also no power cord. On the TV frame itself, a screw had fallen out and was stripped. When I called returns, I was told that I had to wait for another scheduled delivery, which could be another week. No possibility of expedited service as compensation for this error. I am not happy with this transaction at all.

Folks — let me first say that I’m and Audio/Video-phlie. I’m willing to spend a reasonable amount of money on the ‘right’ product. Until recently, I’d been a die-hard plasma fan (assuming low-light environment) — my Pioneer Kuro has served me me well these last couple years.
Moving into a new place, I needed to get something for a bright living room — LCD is the obvious low-glare solution for this environment. I decided to take a chance on this sight-unseen LG model, and let me tell you, I was impressed right out of the gate. My previous experience with LCDs was significantly sub-par black levels and lots of screen judder. I was pleasantly surprised not only at how deep the black levels were (admittedly, still not as good as the better plasmas), but also the smooth motion the 240 LG engine was able to provide. To be honest, it greatly enhances both 24-frame and 30-frame content to such as degree, that I find myself perpetually and pleasantly bewildered.
Don’t hesitate to get this model. The value is outstanding. It looks great aesthetically and delivers with an outstanding display!

After our Mitsubishi 52 inch DLP suddenly died (only 5 years old) we decided to switch to LCD and be done with the hassle of bulb changes. This model had the feature set we were looking for within our price range. We took a chance and purchased it sight unseen, persuaded by the positive user reviews.
We are Extremely Pleased!
This TV has a very bright and sharp picture, with an overall image quality far superior to our old set. One of the previous reviewers commented on the illusion of 3D. I agree, the detail seems to pop right out of the screen. In fact, I think I prefer the 2D Blu-Ray of Avatar over the theater 3D experience.
The internet features are also a lot of fun, especially Youtube on the big screen. Hookup was a breeze, and the calibration utility was very user friendly.
Highly recommended!

I was up-grading from my 12 year old Pioneer HD rear screen projection TV which was the star in its day ($5,000+!)to a more up-to-date HD TV. I choose LG over Sanyo, Sony, and Sharp based upon the comparative reviews on-line. I also have bought other LG products and have been very satisfied with their quality and reliability. The TV was delivered within the window specified without any problems. It took me all of 15 minutes to have it set up and running. Gone were all the cumbersome cables, replaced by a single HDMI connection. The picture was 100 times better than the Pioneer. While this TV can have a resolution 1080P, at the present time there are no cable or satellite system that uses this format. However, if you have a Blu-ray disc player (I have an LG) you can set the resolution to 1080P. I put in a disc and thought I was watching a 3-D movie. Can’t wait for cable/Fios to catch up.

I bought this TV and was very pleased with the quality. I noticed the 240Hz on certain sources…mostly movies or internet video. I was very surprised that the TV found my MythTv server and can access all my Myth content from the TV but without the really cool features such as auto commercial skipping, subtitles, zooming etc. the HDMI is working great as a 55″ computer monitor.
