Panasonic SC-BT730 Blu-ray DiscTM 5. 1 Home Theater System
Set-up was simple and straight forward.
Speakers sounded great, I heard things on the recordings that literally I had not heard before. . . Then I started hearing things that I did not want to hear. . . 1, with barely audible interference coming from the rear speakers wireless LOAD cracking & popping! Finally should be shut off.
The failure was the lack of control or the controls on the receiver. The receiver has an on / off button, a volume control (which does not work or control the iPod volume at all, not sure “what” controlling …) And a button to open or close the drawer DVD / CD. This is all PERIOD. Everything and I mean everything must be done remotely controlled home theater with the TV turned “on” to see what the hell you do / control. Since the receiver takes control of the iPod and then disabling the iPod, all access to music on iPod is controlled from the remote on the TV, and the interface is slow. For example, with 146 artists in alphabetical order from accessing an artist begins with the letter “T” is to bring long! Lost access to the song “Yesterday” by The Beatles in a library of 13,000 song because ‘will be a distant memory yesterday, more like next month, you should first get to a song starts with the letter “Y”. And you can not play music and surf the Internet simultaneously. This is a function in a period of time. Once you change the input source to the TV you unplug the receiver and turn off the music. Let’s say I’m finally playing, but by the time you reach the end of the album or play list, the TV is “expired” ‘because of the energy saving feature, then you must restart the TV to do / see anything with the receiver connection iPod to make a different selection of music.
I wanted this “Top of the line unit Panasonic Theatre to be fully integrated with my Panasonic plasma TV and use a single remote to work with both devices. . . After trying for a week really do not see how it is functioning properly with the TV remote control or remote 2010 model Panasonic 2010 Panasonic home theater.
The other thing that is limiting the receiver is the lack of connections, an HDMI connection is not enough!
I tried to live with the limitations of this “top of the line 2010″ system, but it was more like a attempt to bring a number of work arounds in a 1970 boom box. Very disappointing: (really wanted this job.

This is my first home theater system. I have an LG plasma TV that I bought several years ago and was never happy with the sound. I chose this Panasonic Home Theater System because I had a coupon with my Avatar DVD / Blu Ray. The set up was very easy with step by step instructions. The sound is very nice. I bought an optical digital audio cable to the party have improved sound quality, in my opinion. My environment required wireless rear speakers that came with the SC-BT730. I also wanted the Blu-ray (my first) which came with this model. For less than $ 500, this configuration is fantastic. The subwoofer will rattle windows. It seems much more like sitting in a theater today. My wife says she knows when I’m in Cave Man watch a movie because you can not hear the vibration through the house.
Bottomline: This is an awesome system for a reasonable price. You can still afford to buy some Blu-Rays and popcorn.

My configuration: a ceiling mounted projector in a unit of Panasonic at the back of the room and speaker wires routed through the ceiling and behind the walls.
; The Bad: Panasonic (like many other manufacturers) has designed this configuration with very little flexibility. Although aspects that limit the flexibility of the system were actually designed for convenience, the result is a much more for those of us who need a system to operate outside of its original intentions very narrow. The main problems I found are:
-speaker wires and Panasonic relatively short single-wire speaker connectors and terminals. These connections only force customers to change the speaker wires from, splicing wire add extra length when needed, instead of being able to start fresh. Ultimately, I used butt joints at least 14 and about 100 ‘of additional speaker wires to run everything through the ceiling and behind the walls, like the original Panasonic wires were not nearly long enough for my setup. < br />
-wireless rear speakers required. While the wireless feature works well and can be very helpful for many customers, my setup (with the main unit on the rear wall) does not require the use of wireless units. Unfortunately, because Panasonic did not include the optional plug terminals separated from the box wireless rear speakers, I was forced to install the windows wireless, though the rear speakers are only about 5 ‘from the receiver. This means that a dedicated power outlet is not required equipment, and wireless Internet signal is likely to be hampered in that part of the house.
The Good: Although my setup required a lot of extra work, the end result is very impressive. The sound is very clear and balanced picture of Blu-ray quality is amazing, the upconverting DVD looks very good and the subwoofer is surprisingly powerful despite its modest appearance.
;
In the end, this Panasonic system is a pretty good bet if you want a good sound and picture quality. However, unless the configuration works perfectly with the design of the Panasonic, be prepared to spend some time and effort, if the speaker placement and concealing wires are top priorities.

The main reason why I bought this system for wireless surround speakers that I’ve never been able to use in my bedroom because of the difficulty of wired rear speakers. Easy to install and wireless speakers worked perfectly! Sounds great, but not as strong as my old Panasonic system even though both are rated 1000w. The Blu-ray player worked great, playing recently released Avatar w / o having to do the firmware update. The 1080 Upconvert is not so beautiful like my PS3, not too bad. I like the fact that the front speakers can be mounted to a wall that looks better to me than them taking up space on a support pointless. Wish AM had since my favorite station is on AM sports, but I can not do w / o. Glad I went to the spirit of this model.

The system is used for my family room is medium size, ceiling height, open to kitchen. The sound for movies and music is very good compared to my previous surround system with tower speakers. Have not yet tried all features as the iPod, network. My main complain is that if the source does not play DTS from the optical audio input to the system. I sent email to Panasonic customer support about this issue, and confirm that does not work for DTS through the optical audio input.
